Tree salvage using boxing method is the best way to succesfully transplant fragile trees and reduces notoriously tree stress salvaging healthy mature trees.
The first step in this method is carefully walkthrough the property and tag trees using the following criteria:
Trees that are not going to survive transplant (too old, sick, damaged, etc).
Trees that are not easy to transplant (accessibility of the place, specie etc.).
Trees that are viable to successfully been transplanted.
Obtaining this information the inventory of existing trees is GPS marked and all this data is placed in the site plan to decide the amount of trees to de-vege and logistic and operative matters as well.
Once defined the scope of work, in terms of amount of trees and priorities the salvage crew moves to site and start cleaning weeds and removing small cacti and shrubs to be used after as part of the landscape.
In order to reduce as much as possible stress and shock that the we will cause to the tree in the digging process fertilizers and stabilizers are applied with water truck irrigation prior any activity.
Carefully and skilfully size of box and de-vege process is defined considering structural, physiologic, and particular conditions on any specie.
Manual digging starts detecting the main root system and defining technical aspects of the process.
Once root system is defined skilfully operators start to dig using heavy equipment.
Side boxing is performed applying at this time stabilizers again to reduce stress.
Our trees must stay in the ground for a short period of time for stabilization, during this time it is imperative to keep irrigating for survival.
Once the apropriate time comes bottom boxing is performede and the tree can be moved to a temporary nursery the needed time to be placed in their final location.
Doing this we help tremendously to preserve ecology and we have in exchange mature trees perfectly adapted to the environment at the end we save money for the quality of size, health and look of the obtained trees and at the same time we are environmental sensitive.
